Subjects Taught
First Grade, Fourth Grade, Kindergarten, Second Grade, Third Grade

Being a military "brat", my family traveled a lot when I was in elementary and junior high schools.  I attended Marbury High School beginning in the eight grade and graduated from there in 1980.  I then attended Montevallo University in Montevallo, Alabama for a year and a half.  At that time, I decided to get married and started my family.

In 1986, I started back to college and attended Auburn University in Montgomery (AUM) where I received my BS in Elementary Education in May 1988.  I also obtained my Master's Degree from AUM in May 1994.

Since that time, I have also completed my Library Media Specialists Certification from Alabama State University.

My entire teaching career has been here at Holtville Elementary School.  I taught second grade for 2 years, then taught third grade for 15 years.  I am currently holding the position of Instructional Coach.  This position allows me to work with teachers and their students who are struggling.

I currently serve as the Instructional Coach for HES.  I have held this position since the 2004-2005 school year.  Prior to accepting this position, I taught third grade for 15 years and second grade for 2 years.  I can proudly say that all my educational working experience has been at HES!

My husband's name is Kirk and we live in the Wadsworth community just north of Slapout.  We have a son, who lives in Montgomery with his wife, two dogs, and one cat. :)
