Education

B.S. Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Auburn University in Montgomery 2002.

Experience

I worked in child care for 18 years going from being a teacher to a director. I enjoyed my job very much but found myself spending more time at the center than with my own children. I changed jobs and became a teacher's aide at Holtville working with Kindergartners. I realized after a year of this I was ready to go back to school and finish my degree in Education. I was a teacher's aide for 5 years while going back to school at AUM. Upon graduation in 2002, I was blessed with a teaching position at Holtville as a 3rd grade teacher. I taught 3rd grade for 2 years before moving to my first love Kindergarten.

I am married to Chuck DuBose and have two daughters. Michelle graduated from Holtville in 2006. She then graduated from The University of Alabama with her degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2010 and got married May 22, 2010. I have one granddaughter, Carlie and one grandson, Jackson. They are the joy of my life. My youngest, Amy, graduated from Troy University. May, 2015 with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in IT. I enjoy being a part of my children's life and wouldn't change it for the world. They grow up so quickly. Amy did get married May, 14, 2016.

I enjoy working with young children. I believe that Kindergarten is a very important year in every child's live. This is a time when most children decide if they like school or not. It is not only important to teach them all the academics that are required but to also help to develop positively, socially and emotional.  My goal is to create a learning environment that will help them  develop a desire for learning. This involves giving them a solid foundation in which to build upon in later years.
